WebThat said, it functions pretty much exactly as I was thinking and hoping it would. Installation took about 20 minutes with me taking my time. For the forward facing dash camera no tools were required beyond the prying tool provided with the dash camera. It connects directly into the OEM wire harness behind the rear view mirror. WebIt’s really well designed and the front-facing simple model of the FitCamX is a breeze to install. I bought the version which also has a second rear-facing input… it works okay (the second signal is just blank/blue). Still not brave enough to run the wires to the back for a second, rear-facing camera — but there’s a version that has it.
