WebJun 15, 2024 · The new Falmouth Circuit was formed in 1932. The church suffered bomb damage twice during the war, on October 9, 1940 and again on May 13, 1941. According to the website the shell of the building remained intact but the inside was very badly damaged and on the first occasion several lives were lost. WebGwennap Pit It lends its name to Gwennap Pit, where John Wesley preached eighteen times between 1762 and 1789, although Gwennap Pit is about 1.7 miles (2.7 km) to the northwest, at the hamlet of Busveal near St Day. The pit was caused by mining subsidence in the mid-18th century.
